Municipal elections

Only a few weeks to go and then the municipal elections in Wassenaar will take place.  Most expats over 18 who are registered in Wassenaar have the right to vote in these elections.

Author and publisher Courtney Smith van Rij will personally hand over the first copy of the new book to Wassenaar’s Mayor Jan Hoekema who has personally written the foreword. This is the third edition of the popular Living in Wassenaar series and will be delivered to households in Wassenaar during the third week of January.  Courtney Smith van Rij is also donating 1,000 copies (out of the 12,000 copies printed) to the Gemeente Wassenaar as gifts to new coming Dutch and expat residents in Wassenaar  to be presented when newcomers officially register as new residents.  For the first time, the book is also available as a web book . All websites in the web book have active links. The web book will also be launched on this occasion.

Invitation for all new inhabitants of Wassenaar Monday February 15th in the Townhall

If you have recently moved to Wassenaar, you are kindly invited to join us for a welcome drink on Monday February 15th, from 18.00-20.00 hrs at the Town Hall De Paauw, Raadhuislaan 22, Wassenaar. Following a word of welcome by mayor Jan Hoekema, we will introduce the English language website. You can also visit the exhibition of paintings and sculptures by Loek Bos and Wim Bettenhausen.

Next, we hope you can join us for a drink where you will be given  the opportunity of meeting each other, council members and other representatives of  the municipality of Wassenaar.
